2012 Peugeot 508

Quality, purity, efficiency... The Peugeot 508 embodies the brand new expression in the market for large coaches.
With the 508, Peugeot's international offensive continues, produced in France for all markets (excluding China) will also be built in China this year for  world's largest developing automotive market.

The Peugeot 508 has confirmed its presence and ambitions in one of the traditional strengths, the grand touring car segment. Quality, purity and efficiency are the global concepts that every aspect of the design of the car run, offering a versatile appeal to the owners of emotion as a central theme.
Guided by the quest for perfectly balanced and streamlined contours, the style of 508 indicates a vehicle , made from a fixed , reflecting aspirations of elegance, robustness and quality.

The simple and elegant style of the fascia, the materials, careful workmanship, durability and technologies (color , head-up display , four-zone air conditioning, a , hands-free , access and start-up,...) add to the exclusive ambience of the interior. Each passenger has a privileged status in particular thanks to the excellent car proportions. On the SW in the car this satisfaction is enhanced by the large panoramic glass roof (1.62 m2 glass surface). The boat also has practical and accommodating, with a generous capacity of 545 liters of liquid (515 dm3 VDA standard) for the sedan and 660 liters of liquid (560 dm3 VDA) for the SW. With the backrest folded down (they fold in one easy motion) to form a flat floor, the volume rises to 1,581 liters of fluid (1,381 dm3 VDA) for the sedan and 1,865 liters (1,598 dm3 VDA) for the SW.
Environmental efficiency is a major concern since the beginning of the project, initially optimizing the aerodynamics of the car (from a Cx of 0.26 and a SCx 0.60) and a weight saving compared to the 407 (despite The increase in size and specifications). Under the hood, the 508 benefits of engines with an output 82-150 kW (112-204 hp). Each is extremely well positioned in its category, both in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also in terms of performance and responsiveness.

This range, starting with CO2 emissions of 109 g / km with the new e-HDi system will eventually HYbrid4 technology with its 147 kW (200 hp) and four wheel drive, starting at only 99 g / km of CO2. The top-of-the-range engine at the time of launch, the new 2.2-liter HDi FAP 150 kW (204 hp) with a level of performance superior to the 407 V6 diesel, but with a footprint of over 30%!

Emotion, with the 508, also finds expression through driving, a characteristic highly prized by the Marque. A long-wheelbase (+ 9.2 cm compared to 407), and a large capacity for rear passengers;

Engineering decisions-resulting in reduced overhang at the front (- 4.3 cm compared to 407) and a longer rear overhang, paving the way for better balance and stylistic everyday practicality (with a considerably larger boot volume);

-Dimensions, including width and height, allowing for optimal aerodynamics.

Improved aerodynamics and weight reduction were the main priorities of the start of the project to provide the best possible environmental performance. The CX-508 offers excellent value and SCx: the best versions of a SCx 0.60 (Cx of 0.26) for the sedan and 0.62 (Cx of 0.27) for the SW, which runs until the best in the segment for each body shape. Similarly, a desire for  optimize weight , gave rise to a  upward spiral , benefiting both the car's fuel consumption and the passive safety and dynamic performance.
